With just four days to go until the Skeletour kicks off in Manchester, UK, Ghost have released "Lachryma", a delightfully devilish follow-up to March's "Satanized".
Accompanying the track is a typical Ghost music video - gothic visuals, loose narrative, and full band performance. Whereas the previous single saw the Nameless Ghouls 'unmasked' (playing monks and nuns), the band here are in full 'ghoul' attire, giving us our best look yet at their new costumes, designed by B Åkerlund.
Directed by Amir Chamdin, the video features the new Papa V Perpetua front and centre, in all his theatrical (and sometimes glittery) glory. This is a strong indicator as to what to expect with Ghost's new era on stage.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, band frontman Tobias Forge described "Lachryma" as "a song about self deceit [...] it's heavy on one end and met with a big bombastic chorus".
The video is available to watch below:
The Skeletour kicks off in Manchester on the 15th April. UK stops also include Glasgow, London and Birmingham.
