"Dark Days" Are Here: Lincs Based BURIED BY MY HEARTACHE Kick Off Bold New Era

Look - I'm not saying that a song titled "Dark Days" perfectly encapsulates the state of the world currently, but it doesn't not capture it. It's been three years since BURIED BY MY HEARTACHE's last release, and boy have the Lincolnshire metalcore quintet really kicked it up a notch this time, delivering a heavy hitter with a resonant, emotionally charged message.
This is metalcore as it should be: fast, visceral, unrelenting. It's hard not to compare it to genre giants such as Killswitch Engage and Trivium, but any comparison simply speaks to the quality on show here. The Spalding band have been quiet on the release front since 2023's "Suffer" EP, but it is abundantly clear that that time has instead been spent on chiselling away at their sound and refining their vision. Everything here is elevated from the previous release: the rapid fire drums hitting heavier, guitars punching harder, the vocals grittier.
Sure, it's been a wait to get here, but what a result.

The mixing and mastering here is the cherry on top, really bringing everything to life. The final product stands incredibly strong. There's no doubt as well that this would go down particularly well live - if there's not already a pit, there will be within seconds of the first note. And if there isn't...well, you're clearly at the wrong venue.
Buried By My Heartache have shown here that they mean business. This release kicks off a new era for the band, one that I have every ounce of confidence in. And whilst it may have been easy for the band to slip off the radar in their downtime period, "Dark Days" puts them back on it with force.
