Northumberland based LAST CASE SCENARIO are set to release their latest single, "Carry Me", on Friday 5th September.
The release finds the band producing their own "Jesus of Suburbia", with a subject matter focusing on the emotional burden of supporting a loved one through mental health struggles.
A resonant, delayed guitar riff kicks things off, straight away giving the track a warm feeling. By the time the drums and vocals join, it's almost soothing, swelling chords in the background adding to the atmosphere.
With lyrics such as "will you care for me, when the highs turn into lows", there is a lot on show that will likely hit home for a lot of listeners. However, vocalist Ethan carries the melody with a particular softness, reaching an arm out to the listener.
The track takes a surprise turn around the three minute mark, taking up a shape similar to songs like "Welcome to the Black Parade" and the aforementioned Green Day track. The narrative becomes layered, moving through a series of emotions, flowing with each section of the song. There's even a moment towards the end perfect for a venue crowd singalong, voices raised and phone torches lit.
It all fits together seamlessly, like some kind of musical puzzle.

This is Last Case Scenario at their strongest, really leaning into their alt rock technicalities. The subject matter is heavy, but sonically this is an incredibly accessible track, equally perfect for both genre aficionados and relative newcomers.
"Carry Me" will release on Friday 5th September. The track is available to presave NOW here.
