Following on from fan favourite track "Pressure Cooker", Los Angeles' MILITARIE GUN and Richmond's DAZY have once again teamed up to deliver "Tall People Don't Live Long", an undeniably catchy blend of hip hop and alternative. The release is backed by an equally striking video, directed by Militarie Gun's own Ian Shelton.

Starting with ambient chords, the track quickly introduces itself with a percussive beat, with the low vocal melody floating over the top.

From here, the track livens up, built around the electronic rhythm and the melody. It's quite a simple structure - repeating the chorus section heavily - but its simplicity is its strength: it quickly wriggles its way into your brain, and it'll stay there for quite some time.

The video, which can be watched below, adds to the aesthetic, shot in black and white and making effective use of shadows and spotlights. It's a particularly unique video, and balances abstract with performance quite well. The whole thing is feels like an homage to 90s alternative, capturing that sound with ease.

In places, it heavily reminds me of Beck's "Odelay", being able to take genres and mash them together seamlessly. It makes me look forward to more collaborations between the two.

With "Tall People Don't Live Long", Militarie Gun and Dazy have proven a second time that they make a great team. This is a recipe that clearly works.
