Bursting onto the scene at the start of the year with "Awake", THORN quickly established themselves as one to watch, blending cinematic soundscapes with crushing riffs. Fast forward a few months, and new single "Show Me Your God" sees the intensity dialled up, replacing the atmospherics with a more traditional, darkened edge.
The track does a great job building on the foundations that the band have laid - there is still the post-hardcore sound present, though it's clear that the band have taken inspiration from more extreme genres of metal (right down to the single artwork). It's a great contrast to the first single, showing that Thorn are capable of it all, whilst still ensuring that it hits hard.
This is a strong track, and a great showcase of Thorn's heavier technicalities, right down to the lead guitar work and thrashing, energetic drums. Vocalist Jack Murray has opted to go full metal in this one, fitting the music perfectly, reflecting the instrumental approach taken.

As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. And whilst it has been a bit of a wait between releases, this, quite frankly, is a good thing.
