Spalding based KEEP THIS UP are back with brand new single "Fever Dream". A follow up to last year's "Ghosts", the track centres people who are sick of the pressure of the world, social media, and higher powers. Clearly now is the perfect time to release it.
An upbeat, heavy riff kicks off the track - hard hitting, biting chords. It's always been a fun one to hear live, but studio treatment has been very kind here, giving the track a punchy, powerful edge.
The vocals are incredibly reminiscent of early 2000s pop punk/metalcore, blending well with the heavier instruments. The necessary angst and emotion is carried well, the raw screams sounding genuinely pained towards the end.
Beneath the anger, a poignant reminder is served: we are in control, and we have the power to take our lives back.

The breakdown section is a particular standout - sirens sounding, vocals growing tenser, drums adding to the mix. It gradually builds, the soundscape rising and boiling, before exploding into the solo/outro section. By this point, the crowd will be suitably amped up, the energy of the track feeding off of them.
It's hard to feel nothing listening to this, let alone stand or sit still. The band pride themselves on their energy, and this track reaffirms this.
"Fever Dream" is out NOW on streaming services
