Since 2017, Club 85 in Hitchin has seen hundreds of bands compete in Metal To The Masses, a competition giving bands the chance to play the iconic Bloodstock Festival in Derbyshire.

There's probably not many thrash bands that could pull off a song about trains, an evil shed, and a Leatherface parody, let alone all on the same album, but BANGOVER somehow not just make it work, but make it hit incredibly hard.

"When researching ideas, we stumbled across a wonderful illustration from the adroit and talented artist 'Fen Folk', then it was decided we'll be named Eels! Eels! Eels!"

Hailing deep from the coastal depths of Southampton lies SAVINI, a blackened thrash band fresh to the scene with their debut EP "Into the Arms of Evil". With the release, the band are slowly carving a name for themselves, with shows lined up across the south coast and beyond.

The setlist is a blistering mix of the aforementioned album and tracks from Bayley's tenure in Maiden - an acoustic rendition of often forgotten 'X Factor' track "2 AM" surprises the most - and Bayley very much has the crowd in his palm. His gratefulness and appreciation is worn on his sleeve, smiling throughout and clearly having a great time. One thing is clear, this is Blaze Bayley at his absolute strongest.

"Ophelia" sees guitarist Andrew Bate and vocalist Chloe Gorman return with a gentler, somewhat more sombre track. The track is built around Bate's clean, reverberating guitar, with soothing vocal melodies floating over the top. A crescendo towards the end sees the guitar dip into slightly more distorted tones, but this is merely a narrative tool, aiding the lyrics as the emotion builds.
