East Midlands' own HEARTSTRUNG have had a busy 2025. From releasing sophomore single "Cold Blooded" in February, to having their first headline gig at Lincoln's Komodo in March, there's been a lot to get excited about.
Latest single "Come Alive" continues that excitement, delivering more of the metalcore-fuelled energy the band have developed with their previous tracks.
Straight away, the vocals are a lot stronger here than previous track "Cold Blooded", playing to vocalist Theo's strengths. The chorus is a particular strong point, perfect for a crowd to shout and sing along with shouts of "Come alive!".
There is also a lot of arpeggiated guitar throughout the track, making for an interesting listen. It doesn't get in the way of the vocals, instead complimenting them and adding a technical edge to the track. Of course, the guitar takes centre stage for the solo towards the end, balancing melody with skill. I can already tell that this will be a standout moment in a Heartstrung live set.

The track culminates with about 30 seconds of breakdown filth, slowing right down and really delivering that stank face of approval. It might be slow, but the energy is still relentless, the band delivering each hit with power and purpose.
"Come Alive" sees an upward trajectory, the band growing stronger with each release.
