Three piece PINFINGER have burst on to London's punk scene, with debut EP "Death Spiral" releasing to acclaim. The EP, named after the natural phenomenon where ants slowly march themselves to exhaustion, sees the band explore themes of chaos, confusion and collapse, all while maintaining breakneck energy.

Opening track "What Do You Know" is a blistering flurry of riffs, bolstered by a strong alternative sound. It's a great opener, showcasing Pinfinger's ability to deliver heavy music that's still infectiously catchy. It straddles the often thin line between alt rock and metal, sure to please fans of both.

"White Lies" continues to play on the hybrid sound, delivering non-stop punk energy and power. The riffage here is particularly groovy.

The tempo slows slightly with "See You Around", but is still packed to the brim with heavy punk goodness.

A nifty little drum roll leads the way on "Suicidal Genocide", before a bass heavy riff comes in. There is some great play with the dynamics here, making for a perfectly chaotic soundscape. The vocals move into growling territory towards the end, rising with the instruments. The end result here is two minutes of heavy punk, perfect for charging into your mates.

Closing track "Circling The Drain" carries the energy over - it's nearly impossible to listen to this and not move, be it your leg tapping or your head bobbing. An almost thrash style drumming towards the end adds to the frenzy.

Throughout all the tracks, the production is solid. Everything has its own space to breathe, making for a really good end product and something that is easy to listen to. Rather uniquely, the drums and bass were recorded together live - this results in an incredibly tight sounding rhythm section, making the punches land even more powerfully.
